Le Gone Traiteur Lyonnais

. Had to take half the main dish to go. It is a great place to eat, and people know it. I also had the opportunity to try the escargot okay and the macarons delicious and full of flavor. This is perhaps where I had my best meal during my short trip to South Holland. The French are definitely not shy of ingesting some fat.

It is indeed a friendly place that was more a deli than a cafe. Fat is good, we love fat and we jad'ore even more foie gras!!! I picked out some roast beef for a sandwich and she asked me about other things and I told her just make it how you eat it. . First off, the owner started by asking What, no wine for lunch? I opted for the boudin noir to deviate from a typical Dutch meal which I've been having a lot these past days. .

. You know citron gateau is French for dinner right. French and hospitality, who knew? Trust me, after this, your stomach won't be bothering you for a good couple of hours. The blood sausage was divine, soft and supple, and well-matching with the apples and the mustard sauce that it came with. But hey, if you want quality you have to fork over. I could not read the menu nor understand what I was ordering but the nice lady at the counter helped me out.

I came around 2pm and maybe 2 out of the 6 tables were occupied, so it shouldnt be a prpblem to find a seat. Make a reservation for this place, even for lunch. Never had those before, but I need more of that in my life now! Also, the takeaway meals are priced considerably more kind. I grabbed one of them, and 10 minutes later, the other one was taken as well. Pardon my French ;p I'm actually quite surprised this cozy bistro doesn't have more people declaring their love for. In fact, I haven't found such in A'dam yet. Cute little friendly place that felt more like a kitchen table than a cafe.

One thing is for sure. . Very cute French place in a great location. Haven't I taught you anything?! When I was here, I had the dish of the day, which was a leg of lamb that came in a delicious sauce with string beans and potatoes on the side. Besides, the plate du jour comes with a side salad and the portions are really generous. Finally, the tarte citron is quite a refreshing way to end a meal.

La Gone deserves nothing but top ratings! What's wrong with you, you you spoiled Peruvian taste buds?! The guys running this shop are proud of their Lyonnais heritage and rightfully so! If I could I would visit here every weekend for a indulgent lunch and take some sweets or a baguette home for a light dinner. When I arrived there, it was 5 minutes after they opened for lunch, and there were only 2 remaining tables that were open. . This place is French hospitality to the max! My friend at first was a little deterred by the somewhat challenging menu no concessions made here! She made me a great little sandwich, some type of salad and a beer that I ate sitting at the front table people watching on a beautiful day in The Hague. . .

Good French places that offer affordable lunch and take away meals are really hard to come by here in frog country. Think salad is just French for a heap full of buttery sinful foie gras topped by a mountain of gizzards. The trilingual staff made me and others feel welcome in this place. And that rilette, sweet mother of. I'm sure this salad turned my liver into a hump of adipose tissue. It might just be an excuse to stop shaving and go all matted axilla jungle.

Great little French Lyonnaise cafe. Some things are a bit expensive, especially the macarons, which are the only thing I tasted which was sub-par. They are only open for lunch 12-15h, so plan accordingly if you want to dine here. . . .
